Mmmm Mmmm Good

I was helping Mommy make a strawberry shortcake today and discovered a new food. Whipped cream! I think I'll add it to my list of favourite foods:

AVI's FAVOURITE FOODS

Summer Driving

It's warm outside and I like driving in the car with all the windows down. I like the wind blowing in my hair.

Yesterday I noticed that just like me, bus drivers like to drive with their windows open too. Sometimes Mommy has to stop the car because of a red light and we end up with a bus beside us. Those bus drivers are friendly guys. I wave to them and yell "hi". They always smile and wave back.

Who's There?

Helloooo out there! Mommy and I have been wondering who's reading my blog. So far I've only received one comment from Aunty D and Uncle Craigy. I like getting mail so if you say hello, I'd really like that.

YeeHa!

Greetings from Calgary. Mommy and I were here to visit with Uncle Eddie and Aunty Elaine while Daddy attended a course and bought some wine. Uncle Eddie and Aunty Elaine are great!

On Friday, they took me to Calaway Park. It was a big amusement park with lots of rides and I think I went on all of them.

YeeHa!...just a little something that Aunty Elaine taught me on the merry-go-round.

On Saturday I didn't feel very well so Mommy let me watch TV all day. Uncle Eddie had a new movie that I REALLY liked. I watched "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" three times! The music is great and I hope Mommy gets it for me when I go home.

On Sunday, I was feeling much better. My cousin Mikayla and and her mom, Aunty Kim, came for a visit. We went to the playground then down to the river. Here's Mikayla pulling me in her cart. Good thing she likes to pull because I like to sit in the cart.

Down at the river, Aunty Elaine taught me a new game - Pooh Sticks. You drop a stick in the water from one side of the bridge then run to the other side to see it float down the river. It was fun!

Mommy, Daddy and I had a great time in Calgary and hope to visit with Uncle Eddie and Aunty Elaine again soon.

I Got Mail!

This is Bertie. He's one of Thomas the Tank Engine's friends and my favourite friend from the Island of Sodor.

When I went to visit Thomas in Squamish I wrote a letter to Bertie. Thomas took it back to Sodor for me. Guess what! This afternoon I got a letter from Bertie in the mail. It was very exciting. The stamp on the envelope was from the Sodor Post Office and the stamp had a train on it. Mommy helped me to open the envelope very carefully and we read it together.

Bertie said he was very excited to receive my letter and that he's happy that I had a chance to visit Thomas. I hope next time Thomas comes to Squamish that he brings Bertie with him.

Olivia and Max

Here I am with my friend's Olivia and Max. They came over for dinner on Sunday night. Here we are hanging out in the Living Room while Mommy, Daddy, Uncle Dick and Aunty Lucy visit in the Dining Room. I think they're drinking wine again.

Olivia likes to pretend she's my Mommy. She "reading" a book to me but I can tell she doesn't really know how to read. The story isn't the same as when my real Mommy and Daddy read the book. It's OK. I let her pretend to read to me because she is one of my friends.

Father's Day

On Father's Day I asked Mommy if we could have full-circle breakfast at our house. She called Grandpa, Aunty Wendy, Uncle Kelly and Jacob and they agreed to come over. Yeah!

Mommy made eggs benedict, fruit salad and roasted tomatos. Everyone said it was yummy but I didn't try anything because I don't like to eat that kind of stuff. Instead, I ate an english muffin with lots of butter. Yummy! Full-circle breakfast at our house was fun and I hope that we do it again.

Here I am with Grandpa and Daddy after our full-circle breakfast. We're watching golf on TV. See Daddy...he's wearing the nice tie I made for him.

Too Excited!

Mommy was very good. She didn't say anthing about the secret gift I hid away for Daddy. But, I just couldn't wait. I got too excited and gave it to him after supper today. He really liked it and said he'd wear it to work on Tuesday, just like I wanted. That made me really happy.

Shhhh!

That's the gift I made for my Daddy. I think it will go with all his clothes. I put all the colours I could find on it and some green sparkles too in case he needs to get dressed up. I hope he wears it to work!

My teacher, Miss Simmie, told me to hide it until Sunday. I think I found a good hiding spot. I hope he doesn't find it! Shhhh.

Lost and Found

Mommy and I were looking in a box of my old clothes when I spotted them...my favourite pajamas! They have little volkswagons and buses all over them. In case you don't already know, I LOVE BUSES!

I thought my bus pajamas were lost because they disappeared from my drawer one day. But, there they were in the box. I found them and HAD to have those pajamas back! Mommy says they are too small for me but I don't think so, I can still wear them, see!

My feet are too big for the footies and my legs are too long but I love these PJs more than any of the others that I've ever owned. I hope I can wear them forever.

An Excellent Day!

Yesterday was one of the best days EVER! After breakfast at Grandpa's, Daddy, Mommy and I drove to Squamish. Mommy said she had a surprise for me there. The ride to Squamish was very long but when we got there, Mommy's surprise was great. She had tickets to ride on THOMAS THE TANK ENGINE! The real Thomas!

The real Thomas is much bigger than the Thomas trains that I have at home. Unfortunately, I didn't get to ride on Annie or Clarabel. Thomas didn't bring them with him when he left Sodor. Here's a picture of me with Daddy in one of the Squamish coaches. During the ride, I got a red clown nose and saw a magician pull a birdie out of his bag.

Besides meeting and riding on Thomas, there was lots to do. I wrote a letter to my favourite bus, Bertie, met Sir Topham Hatt, got a tattoo, saw lots of model train railroads, listened to a Thomas story, played with some Thomas stamps, and climbed on some really old trains. There was so much to do that I got really tired and fell asleep. We didn't have a chance to finished doing everything but that's OK because I had a lot of fun.

To top off a great day, when we got back to Vancouver, we had a birthday party to attend. My little cousin Jacob turned one. Aunty Wendy made my favourite kind of cake - chocolate! Here I am helping Jacob blow out his candles and open one of his gifts. He's never had a birthday before so he didn't know how to do these things.

Yum Yum

It's Saturday and Mommy is making my favourite breakfast...PANCAKES! Mommy and Grandpa make the best pancakes. Grandpa made the first pancakes I ever ate and I've loved them ever since. Here I am eating pancakes when I was a little boy...

Now that I'm older, I can almost make the batter by myself. First I help take the eggs out of the carton and crack them in the bowl. Then I stir while Mommy adds all the rest of the ingredients. Next, Mommy cooks them while I wait hungrily. I really like it when she make my pancakes into cars, buses and trucks. Grandpa is good at making letters. I like letters too especially A, V and I.

Little Sprout

Something's out there!

It might be hard for you to tell in this photo because of all the weeds trying to grow back in the herb garden but Mommy and I checked my seeds yesterday and found four little sprouts. One was all the way out of the ground and the other three were just pushing out of the dirt.

Wow! I'm a good gardener!
