Movement, Song & Make-Believe

Today was my last class at Arts Umbrella so my teacher, Laura, let Mommy and Daddy come and watch me. We showed them some of the dances that we've been working on each week.

Here are some pictures of me dancing. I'm growing into a tall tree here...

And here, I'm holding my big elephant ears but trying to wave to Mommy at the same time...

It was really exciting having Mommy and Daddy come watch what Laura's taught me. Mommy took lots of video but she mostly caught me checking to see if she and Daddy were watching.

I love Laura's class and Mommy says I'm signed up for the rest of the year. Next time we have a performance, I'll make sure Mommy takes more pictures to share.

Waikiki Beach

I’m in Honolulu now. We left Kauai yesterday and Mommy and I fly to Vancouver tonight.

Today Mommy, Daddy and I spent the morning at Waikiki Beach. It was my last chance to play in the warm sand. Mommy and I built a big sandcastle with a moat. Daddy helped us fill the moat with water but the water kept disappearing. We had to make a lot of trips to get water to keep the moat full.

After playing in the sand, Daddy took me for a swim in the ocean. I was scared of the waves at first but once I got in, it was lots of fun.

The beach doesn’t have any hot tubs to get warmed-up in so Daddy came up with a good idea. He buried me in the warm sand. Here I am getting all warmed up!

Soon it was time for lunch so we packed up our thing from the beach to go get something to eat. After that we headed to the swimming pool at the hotel where I sent swimming for two hours.

Mommy and I fly home to our blue house tonight. I’m sad to leave Hawaii and our sunny vacation but also happy to go back to my toys and friends at home.

The Taco Bus

It's our last day on Kauai so Mommy, Daddy and I went to see some of the beaches on the north shore of the island. The beaches here are beautiful. There is lots of nice sand and nobody else around. We had fun watching the big waves then Daddy and I looked for "shell money", crabs and fish while Mommy watched the surfers.

After the beaches, we stopped a beautiful Hawaiian garden that stretched high up into the mountain.

After the garden, Mommy found a good place for lunch. The taco bus! Here I am waiting beside the bus for my burrito. By the way, it was delicious!

The Perfect Swimming Hole

Our hotel in Kauai has a huge swimming pool with a bridge that crosses over it and a bar at one end. It's a nice place to swim especially if I want to do a lot of spashing and kicking. I found a better place to swim though - the jacuzzi. There are three of them, the water is nice and warm and if there is nobody else in the jacuzzi, I can turn off the bubbles.

Swimming Swimming...

...in the swimming pool.
When days are hot,
When days are cold,
In the swimming pool.

Ahhhh. I love swimming. While Daddy was golfing this afternoon, Mommy and I spent three hours in the swimming pool. I love swimming so much that I didn't want to stop for lunch or a snack. At 5:00 this afternoon, I finally got tired of swimming so we went back to our hotel room. I got straight into the gigantic bathtub and swam some more for another hour. I hope we have lots of time to do more swimming tomorrow.

Hawaii Bus

Oh! I almost forgot to tell you! While I was eating my ice cream, Daddy got tired of waiting for me and wandered into a store. Guess what he came out with?!? A new school bus! Here it is! Look at the jacked up, monster wheels. It's got suspension springs underneith too. I'm going to call him Hawaii bus. I wonder if all the school buses in Hawaii look like this. Vroom vroom!

Aloha

Aloha! I'm feeling much better and made it Hawaii. After two airplane rides, I am now on the island of Kauai.

Today was lots of fun. We went to a Farmer's Market then had brunch in Hanalei. (Hee hee hee. Brrrrrunch! That's such a funny sounding word. Mommy told me it means eating breakfast and lunch together. How silly!) I had a yummy bagel and cream cheese while Mommy and Daddy enjoyed a smoothie and coffee.

After our brunch (hee, hee, hee), we explored Anini Beach. The sand here was very soft and the water not too wavey. I had fun finding rocks on the beach and tossing them in the water. I hope we come back and spend more time here another day.

After the beach, we went to a playground in Princeville, then had ice cream before going back to the hotel for a swim. Here's a picture of Daddy and me from one of the balconies at the hotel. Hanalei Bay is in the background.

I had a lot of fun today and I'm feeling much better now that my cold is almost done. I'm also not as grouchy because I've caught up on some of my sleep. Time to get to bed now so I can have another fun day tomorrow.

Not Feeling Well

Sorry, no blogs for the rest of this week. I'm sick. Mommy wants me to get lots of sleep and eat healthy food so I can go on the airplane on Thursday. We're taking a family vacation to Hawaii. My body has lots of work to do to get itself better. Time for breakfast then back to bed.
