Chunderwear

Woops! Putting on my pajamas, I just figured out that my undies have been on backwards all day.

Gobble Gobble

We had a great Thanksgiving dinner. Grandpa, Aunty Wendy, Uncle Kelly, Jacob and Jacob's Grandma, Helen came for dinner. It was a full table, just the way I like it.

As usual, there was a lot of food on the table. I'm not kidding, there was a ton of food. But Jacob and I don't like any of these foods. I do like roasted chicken legs so I tried the turkey leg because it looks pretty similar. I liked it. But one is enough to fill me up.

First Round

This afternoon was much more fun. Mommy and I joined Daddy for a round of golf. This was Mommy's first time golfing at Tobiano and my first time on the course too.

It's our last weekend before we move back to Vancouver so there isn't time to play another round of golf. Too bad. It was lots of fun and I can't wait until next year when I can do it again.

Fish Tale

All summer long, Daddy kept hearing about the big fish in Kamloops Lake so today we tried fishing. It was really exiting getting ready but once we got to the dock and had our fishing line in the water it ended up being kinda boring.

First, I had to stay still and be quiet the whole time. Then I waited and waited and waited but nothing happened. We even asked Mommy to hold the rod while Daddy and I went for a walk but when we came back, still nothing had happened. No fish.

Next time I hope the fish are more active because it's really hard for me not to be.

Last Days of Summer

School starts soon and I'm up at Tobiano enjoying the last few days of holidays. I love hanging out here. I get to sleep in, read books without being disturbed and play board games with Mommy. I also go swimming, watch movies and play golf.

Here I am after a golf lesson with the best teacher in the world. His name is Dave and he teaches me lots of stuff. He makes up really fun golf games that get me to swing the club properly and he laughs at my jokes. We have a lot of fun together. I think Dave is a 10 out of 10!

Big Splash

It's sunny and warm today so we are spending lots of time at the pool. I'm working on my big splash jumps. I can't do them as well as Uncle Kelly but it's lots of fun trying.

Release the Power!

"When the music starts playing, this power takes over me and I just have to let it out!"

Nelson and Jessica's wedding reception on August 21, 2010. Avi danced the night away and outlasted his Dad. We finally dragged Avi off the dance floor at 11:30 pm.

Aunty Jess' Wedding

Aunty Jessica and Uncle Nelson got married yesterday.

I like weddings because you get to dress up, the usually play one of my favourite songs, "Ode to Joy," and there is dancing at the reception.

Here I am in my new, fancy clothes that Mommy bought 'specially for the occasion. I really like my new shoes and the clip-on tie. To be extra fancy, I let Mommy spike up my hair with gel.

After the kissing part there were bubbles! I liked that!

Stay tuned for my next post from the reception. There was dancing!!! I love to dance! Mommy has to fix the video first because it's pretty dark and hard to see my dance moves.

Mini'bots Camp

This week I'm at St. George's attending a summer camp. I love going to camps at St. George's. Everyone is really nice and I always have lots of fun.

Mommy thinks this camp is good practice for grade 1 because I'm there from 9am to 3:30pm. I even take a lunch and eat it there without her.

The camp I'm attending this year is called Mini'bots. I've wanted to take this camp since I was only 5 years old. I'm learning all about circuits and building an electronic mouse that can run all over our house just like a real mouse. Besides building the mouse, I've already finished making a motorized submarine.

So we aren't stuck in the classroom all day, our camp leader, Liam, takes us to other activity stations. On the first day, I went swimming and tested out my submarine. I've also played soccer, gone to the library for games station, played games in the gym, and had circus station where I got my face painted and did all kinds of circus tricks like walking on stilts. Today in arts and crafts I made this bracelet for Mommy. She says it's very beautiful and she likes it a lot.

This week has been lots of fun and I've made some new friends too. I'm really tired at the end of the day but it's all worth it.

Tigh-Na-Mara

For the long weekend, Mommy, Daddy and I went to Vancouver Island with my wife, Shyree, and her family. Shyree's mom and dad have a place at Tigh-Na-Mara in Parksville.

The whole weekend was fun. The ferry ride was fun, playing at the beach was fun, seeing the sandcastle competition was pretty cool, shopping and eating ice cream at Coombs Market was fun, bumper boating was fun and of course, the swimming pool is always lots of fun. It wasn't just fun for us kids, the dads went golfing and the moms went to the spa so we all had a great weekend. Here are some photos that Mommy took. She wishes she took more.

Two for one.
Avi and Shyree deserve half fares for occupying only one seat.

Avi and Daddy at Coombs Market.
There are the goats on the roof!

A relaxing morning with the DS before going swimming.

An evening stroll on the beach before bedtime.

Fancy Food (sort of)

Last night, Mommy and Daddy took me out to see The Lion King. Before the show, we went out to the William Tell Restaurant for a fancy meal.

I've looked at menus before but this one had all sorts of stuff I'd never heard of. Luckily the waiter brought me a different menu from the pub next door and I found lots of things I like to eat.

This is probably the fanciest chicken fingers and fries I've ever eaten. Look at my ketchup in the shiny, silver, dish. And my ice cream was even fancier! It came in glass bowl that had a long stem. I like eating in fancy restaurants...as long as I don't have to eat the fancy food.

Oliver's Birthday Party

My friend Oliver turned 6 today. He had his party at the Adventure Zone in Granville Island's Kids' Market. I've always wanted to go to the Adventure Zone and today was my lucky day!

All the guys from my class were there. We had cake, chips, juice and lots and lots of running around. It was so much fun. I think the best part was seeing my school friends.

Last Day of Kindergarten

Today was the last day of school. I'm sure going to miss Ms. Skinner and all my school friends.

Jericho Beach Field Trip

Only 2 more days of school and for our second to last day, I had a field trip. Ms. Skinner took both Kindergarten classes to Jericho Beach for a fun morning. Lots of Mommies and a few Daddies came too.

When we left the school at 9:15, it was pouring rain. Mommy wasn't too sure about going on this field trip but I told her I knew it would stop raining soon (I am trying to be a famous TV weatherman so I know lots about this kind of stuff). I told her that I could tell the sun is trying to come out. By the time we got to the beach it had almost stopped raining!

Once our base camp was set up, we headed to the beach for a sandcastle building contest. We brought so many things to the beach but the one thing we forgot was my sand toys. Oh well, Mommy helped me collect some shells and I built a tall tower. We even found a big piece of wood to make a draw bridge. The sand was nice and wet so everything stuck together nicely.

After playing in the sand, we had a snack break. I also had to change out of my boots and into my Crocs because I decided to go into the ocean and my boots flooded. My feet and socks were swimming inside my boots!

After our snack, Ms. Skinner took us on a Nature Walk. We walked past the duck pond where some tiny, tiny, baby ducks were swimming. They were SOOOO cute! We also saw a beaver post - I'd never seen one before.

Then we headed up the hill and walked in the forest a little bit. We discovered tiny frogs in the grass and heard lots of different kinds of birds.

Our final stop on the nature walk was at the bridge that crosses the duck pond. Ms. Skinner had told us to collect two small sticks so we could play Pooh Sticks. That was a nice surprise. I liked playing Pooh Sticks when Aunty Elaine taught me how in Calgary.

Unfortunately, by the time we got back to our base camp, my feet were cold and wet again. Crocs aren't very good for going on a soggy nature walk. Mommy dried my feet and wrapped them up in a towel while I ate my lunch. I felt much better after that but I was still feeling cold so didn't feel like going on the Scavenger Hunt. Mommy and I decided to go home a little early so I could have hot shower to warm up.

The field trip was a little soggy and not so sunny and warm but I had lots of fun and can't wait for more trips to the beach this summer.

Books Books Books

I love books! I love it when Mommy reads to me and I also love reading stories to myself.

Right now, my favourite books are "The Magic Treehouse" series by Mary Pope Osborne. I like the adventures of Jack and Annie and the different places they go each time.

Mommy bought me all 39 of them to read this summer and I've already finished 14. It's so hard to stop reading them. One day I even read two!

I'm looking forward to lots of books this summer.

An Eating Adventure

Mommy wasn't feeling well yesterday so we went out for dinner. (I LOVE eating out!) Because I was super hungry and willing to try a new food we decided to walk to the Chinese restaurant up on the corner.

I love cashew nuts so Mommy thought I'd like "Chicken With Cashew Nuts". She was right!!! I loved it. Not only did I like the nuts but the chicken and tiny baby corns were tasty too. Even a few green peas were okay. I put the carrots, celery and bamboo shoot on my side plate though.

I like noodles so I tried the "Beef Chow Fun" Mommy was eating. Mmmmmmmm. That was yummy too. The beef didn't taste so good on it's own but with the chewy noodles. Yummy!

Grandpa thinks this is all great! He says I like "Chicken with Cashews" just like my Dad does, and "Beef Chow Fun" just like my Mom does. I guess I really am half of each of them.

New Posts

Hi Blog Fans.

Sorry I've been away for so long. School has been super busy but I've only got two days left until I'm done for the summer. Mommy can't wait.

I've got some good news. Mommy has discovered a way to post to my blog using her iPhone. This means you'll be seeing lots of updates and catch-up blogs. So stay tuned. We have lots of adventures planned this summer.

Mini-Monet

Do you know who made this painting? Nope. Not Monet. It was my Kindergarten class. We each did a little bit with our teacher, Ms. Skinner, and it turned out great! I did the water lilies in the middle and some of the willows on the left side.

Last night, our class had an art gallery and silent auction in the evening. The painting we did was the item up for auction. Ms. Skinner was trying to raise money for next year's Kindergarten supplies. Mommy and Daddy put a bid on it but it wasn't nearly enough. I hear that the final bid was over $500! Wow! That's a lot of money. I could buy two Nintendo DS machines for that.

Mommy was the parent helper the day we did this painting. She wonders if Monet did the real Water Lilies painting in 45 minutes.

Piano Recital

I graduated from Group Piano lessons at the Vancouver Academy of Music today. This morning was my end of the year concert and I wanted to play something that nobody else was playing.

I ended up choosing "Shining Star" because it reminds me of my little cousin, Olivia. I tried to make it something that she'd like to listen to when she's sleeping.

In the Fall, I start private lessons. Right now, I'm not sure who my teacher will be but I really like playing the piano and can't wait to learn some new songs.

Super Agent A

My birthday is coming soon and I'm having a Spy Party at Go Bananas. Mommy designed some invitations that are in mirror code (you need a mirror to read them) and we made up agent names for all my guests. My name is Super Agent A - I'm a super agent because I'm the birthday boy and because I watch Inspector Gadget and know more about spies than all my friends.

Today Mommy and I delivered all the invitations. I disguised myself so nobody would recognize me and I hand delivered each invitation because my party is a secret mission and I didn't want everyone at school to find out about it. Mommy drove the get-away car.

I think my disguise was pretty good because some of my friends didn't even know it was me. My best friend kept asking his dad, "who is that little man Daddy?"

I Love Lego!

Uncle Praveen joined us for Easter dinner last night and he brought gifts for Jacob and me. It was a Lego RV bus!

This morning Mommy helped me open the package but I put the RV bus together all by myself. I LOVE Lego!

The RV is pretty cool. It comes with two people who can sit up front and drive. It also opens up at the back and the people can have a picnic inside or outside. There are two sleeping compartments and even a BBQ. I'm not sure what's more fun, putting it together or playing with it after it's put together.

Easter Egg Hunt

The Easter bunny came this morning. Somehow he knew that I'd be home for breakfast this week and not at Grandpa's house.

Church

Mommy and I dressed up to go to church this morning. It's Easter today. I wore my best pants, my stripy button-down shirt, my blue vest and my red bow tie. I even styled my hair so I'd look very handsome.

Mommy wore a brown sweater and skirt with flowers. I like it when Mommy wears skirts so I told her, "Mommy, I've seen you look better, but you look pretty good today."

100 km Club: Day 1

The 100 km club started at school today. Everyone Monday, Wednesday and Friday before school and at lunchtime, you can run around the park beside the school. It's 1 km to go all the way around the park. I'm trying to go around 100 times.

Mommy and I don't go running in the morning but we will do it together on sunny lunch hours. Here are my tickets for running 3 kms today.

Disneyland: Jedi Training

Disneyland has a Jedi Training Academy and I GOT PICKED for training!

My Jedi master taught me some light saber moves and, just in time! During our training, Storm Troopers, a Sith and Darth Vader showed up.

Darth Vader tried to lure us to the dark side, but I wasn't tempted. I hate bad guys. Instead, I fought him with all my might and even used Force Power to fight off the Storm Troopers.

I graduated from Jedi Training School and got a certificate. I'm now officially called Padwan Maru and Daddy even bought me my own light saber.

Olympic Torch Relay

Aunty Jen is running in the torch relay today so Mommy and I went to cheer her on. I brought my red, Olympic mittens, my red, apple hat and my Canada flag. You gotta dress up for these things, you know.

We left school right away and had a yummy burrito lunch near where Aunty Jen was supposed to run. After lunch, we got a great spot on the sidewalk and waited...

...and waited. I was very excited!...

...and waited. It wasn't so exciting after waiting for 10 minutes.

Waiting isn't very much fun but soon other people in my family showed up which made it more fun to wait. Then stuff started to happen. A truck drove by playing fun music and people gave us free stuff. Some police men drove by and asked people to stay on the sidewalk. A bus drove by and dropped another torch bearer off. Lots of people wanted to get their photo taken with him.

Then we saw her! At first she was a tiny spec but she was running fast with the flame and she looked so happy. She's a really good runner!

It was really exciting so I cheered as loud as I could and waved my Canada flag.

I got to see Aunty Jen light the next guys torch. Someone told me they call it a kiss.

Now I can't wait for the Olympics to begin and I hope that I can run with the torch when the Olympics come back to Vancouver next year.

My Perfect Day

Mommy and I had the BEST day today! We started off by changing into my favourite lounging clothes - chunderwear and robes! Then I got to watch "Super Why!" on TV BEFORE breakfast!

After breakfast, Mommy and I played board games until the afternooon. Then, because it was such beautiful, sunny day, we went for a bike ride down at Jericho beach. Of course, we changed out of our robes first.

Isn't it pretty here? I rode my bike all the way from the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club over to the Jericho Sailing Centre. Unfortunately, the restaurant at the Sailing Centre was closed so I didn't get to have a treat there.

After the bike ride, I played in the park for a little while them Mommy said we could go for a treat. I asked for ice cream!

Here I am with my favourite flavour, mint chocolate chip. Mommy had a coffee.

After the ice cream I was still hungry so we went out for an early dinner. I love bean and cheese burritos but Burrito Brothers where I used to like to go keeps messing up my order so Mommy found a new place to try.

The guys at Budgies Burritos made my burrito perfectly - just bean and cheese with the rice outside on the side. It was YUMMMMMY! Mommy said her tacos were good too.

After dinner we had time to go home for a movie. This was one of the best days of my life.
