Olympic Torch Relay

Aunty Jen is running in the torch relay today so Mommy and I went to cheer her on. I brought my red, Olympic mittens, my red, apple hat and my Canada flag. You gotta dress up for these things, you know.

We left school right away and had a yummy burrito lunch near where Aunty Jen was supposed to run. After lunch, we got a great spot on the sidewalk and waited...

...and waited. I was very excited!...

...and waited. It wasn't so exciting after waiting for 10 minutes.

Waiting isn't very much fun but soon other people in my family showed up which made it more fun to wait. Then stuff started to happen. A truck drove by playing fun music and people gave us free stuff. Some police men drove by and asked people to stay on the sidewalk. A bus drove by and dropped another torch bearer off. Lots of people wanted to get their photo taken with him.

Then we saw her! At first she was a tiny spec but she was running fast with the flame and she looked so happy. She's a really good runner!

It was really exciting so I cheered as loud as I could and waved my Canada flag.

I got to see Aunty Jen light the next guys torch. Someone told me they call it a kiss.

Now I can't wait for the Olympics to begin and I hope that I can run with the torch when the Olympics come back to Vancouver next year.
